Big Week

Amelia, Mika (our Husky) and Jake

This week is going to be a busy one – not only will I be having a Board of Education Candidate Virtual Orientation (the new Superintendant will share general information about the district with us candidates), but I’ll also have the opportunity to (virtually) go in front of the School Unions to make my case on why they should endorse me.

Am I nervous? Yes.

But all I have to do is look at these two faces (my children, Jake and Amelia) and I am reminded why I embarked on this journey. They represent the future of this district – the hopes and dreams of our youth for progress. They represent my belief that every child deserves a great education, and that “obstacles” like race, gender, social economic background, and location should never be a factor to their success.

Education needs to be equitable. Period.

So wish me luck!
