A Voice for Students.
A Champion for Communities.
A Leader for Our Future.
Christine Salazar is a proud education advocate, community leader, and mother, deeply rooted in the San Gabriel Valley.
A product of the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District and a single mother of two current HLPUSD students, Christine knows firsthand the transformative power of public education – and the critical need for leaders who fight for opportunity, equity, and progress.
Christine made history as a Trustee and later Board President for Hacienda La Puente School District, where she championed bold initiatives that expanded pathways for students:
- Launching the district’s first Aviation Program, with a CTE Pathway.
- Expanding C-STEM (Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) programs districtwide.
- Introducing the Youth Cinema Project, connecting students to professional mentors in the film industry.
- Expanding the nationally recognized Speech and Debate programs, giving students the skills and confidence to compete on the world stage.
Christine fought for fiscal responsibility, transparency, and student-first governance – even when it meant standing against political pressures.
A Trusted Voice in Democratic Leadership
Christine’s commitment to service extends far beyond her local community.
She has been elected multiple times as an Assembly District Delegate (ADEM), proudly representing her region and fighting to ensure that the Democratic Party reflects the values and needs of grassroots communities.
Her leadership and advocacy earned her the honor of being named a Democrat of the Year (2022 AD 56), for recognizing her outstanding service, organizing efforts, and dedication to uplifting voices across the San Gabriel Valley.
Currently, Christine continues her leadership work across California:
- Serving as Treasurer and Board Member of the California Latino School Boards Association (CLSBA), helping to uplift Latino voices in education leadership statewide.
- Advocating at the state level for educational equity, labor rights, and stronger community representation in governance.
Answering the Call to Serve Again
Now, Christine is answering the call to serve once again – as a candidate for Regional Director – to ensure our communities have a powerful advocate at the table.
Her grassroots experience, proven leadership, and unshakable commitment to people-first politics make her uniquely qualified to help lead the next generation of Democratic leaders.
Christine’s work is guided by one simple truth:
Real leadership means listening, fighting, and delivering – together.
